What can I build with copperpipes?

We usually say that only the imagination sets the limits, because that is certainly the case in this case. Feel free to use our furniture as inspiration when designing your own version! All the parts that we used in our furniture can be bought loose among copper pipes & parts. In addition, we manufacture a number of parts such as this wall bracket that you will only find with us. Thanks to the fact that all our copper pipes & parts are of industrial quality, they have very few limitations. From these, we have built lots of furniture and furnishings, everything from small paper holders and bathroom shelves to 20 meter long bar counters that weigh several dog kilos. In addition, we have always glued together our interior designs. A method with many advantages.

As you know, copper is a very cool material. It constantly changes color and shine, but you can still polish it shiny bright at any time. Copper is also very soft and weakens significantly if you heat it up for, for example, soldering, a method that is still used today by plumbers around the world. We use the old and honorable parts but thanks to the glue we can fasten everything together in a modern and invisible way that does not weaken the material. In this way, we can be proud of our furniture as we know how high quality it is.

How do you keep copper shiny?

Many people are concerned about copper becoming dull and dirty over time, how to avoid this? First of all, we want to point out that it takes longer than many people think, and also that many people think it's nice to have a more raw look on their copper interior. The pipes gradually become duller and duller over time and how many pieces of furniture do you have at home that actually change the feel? We think it's fantastic to have such a living material, but of course also understand that some people want it shiny glossy.

We have tried many plasters and found our favorite: Häxan is a metal plaster that has been many people's favorite for a very long time. Take some Häxan on a cloth and rub onto the copper pipes, in no time they will be shiny!

How long it takes for the pipes to become dull is difficult to say, it depends entirely on the environment they sit in, outdoors in sunshine and rain it goes much faster than indoors, likewise it goes faster in a bathroom than in a living room. However, we have discovered that with a protective clear coat, the pipes stay shiny much longer!

How much is copper tubing worth?

Copper as a material is, as I said, soft, and compared to steel pipes, there is a very big difference in how high a load they can handle. However, if you dimension correctly, there are no problems. We recommend, for example, that you use 28mm pipes and parts for clothes racks and clothes rails. 15-22mm works well for slightly smaller bars such as towel hangers or tool bars. From 35mm, you can advantageously build larger things such as tables or bar furniture. Everything is relative, of course, we have built coffee tables from 22mm tubes that last well and also shelf consoles from 15mm tubes that worked. You just have to think about construction.
